Edition 05: Jennifer Harmon
Meet The Collector: Jennifer Harmon

Why We Chose Jennifer
When we were thinking about who should represent October during our inaugural Collectors Circle year, one person immediately came to mind: Jennifer! Why? She LOVES Halloween!
In addition to being a member of Team Happy Everything!, Jennifer has been a collector herself for more than 15 years—so she knows a thing or two about decorating, offering advice to new collectors, and the FOMO of missing out on a Retired or Limited-Edition favorite.
With a collection that has grown right alongside her love for the brand, Jennifer brings a unique perspective to our Collectors Circle. So, happy spooky season! Read on and enjoy…
About Jennifer
Jennifer lives in Hobe Sound Beach, Florida, with her husband and their two beloved maltipoos, Bode McNugget and Brandy Merlot. When she’s not working with Team Happy Everything!, she runs her own marketing consultancy specializing in copywriting, social media, and brand strategy.
Jennifer is a shameless Disney Adult (and former Cast Member) who loves coffee, wine, McDonald’s Diet Coke (specifically), reading, running, and attending a nightly “Yappy Hour” with Bode and Brandy. She loves any excuse to decorate and host, and unironically enjoys long walks on the beach and Yacht Rock.
(And yes, she really did get married on Halloween. 🎃)
Jennifer’s Decorating Style in Three Words
Casual, Colorful, Coastal.

What’s your favorite Happy Everything! memory or moment?
Joining Team Happy Everything! After being a collector for years! I was ecstatic to become part of the happy crew 3+ years ago. If you’ve ever commented or direct messaged us on our social media in the past couple of years, you were probably chatting with me! (Hi!)
I am the creative copywriter for Happy Everything!, as well as a strategic planner and social media community manager. I LOVE being a part of it all… (and especially getting sneak peeks into upcoming designs.) My Happy Line Up Frame sits right next to me as I work in my home office, and I used to have Unicorn on an organizational Nesting Cube at my old Disney Parks office.

We happen to know you LOVE Halloween. What’s your favorite part about spooky season and October?
It’s true - Halloween is my favorite. While this has been the case my whole life, this was solidified forever on October 31, 2014: our wedding date!
Yes, we got married on Halloween (due to otherwise limited availability at our favorite venue) and no, there weren’t any costumes, black, or orange.
It was a “wedding on Halloween”, not a “Halloween wedding” with hundreds of white pumpkins, mason jars, pale pink ribbons, and festive-but-elegant little touches…my Dad and I also did a surprise dance to Thriller. Best day ever! {My (retired) Happy Everything! Bride and Groom were there, too.}

What’s your “I didn’t need it but had to have it” piece?
My Mini Glass Jar, hands down. It was a gift, and I didn’t realize how much I’d adore it. I use it every single day in my kitchen coffee nook to hold K-Cups, and I enjoy swapping out my Attachments often to go with the seasons and occasions. (In fact, I love it so much, I got a second one for dog treats!)
Beyond Bases, Ghost is a favorite Icon around here this time of year...

Have you ever bought a Base during our Get Happy Parties just for the free limited Edition Icon? Be honest.
Yes! No shame! I really loved the Cookie Jar Icon from the 2023 Get Happy Holiday Party, so I kept it for myself and purchased a Nesting Cube and personalized Striped Bone Attachment at 20% off for my dog sitter as part of her Christmas gift. Win/win.
What theme or style would you love to see more of?
Everything Halloween! Plus, as a former Disney Parks Cast Member, my dream-come-true would be a Disney + Happy Everything! collaboration. I know I’m not alone there. Hopefully that happens someday. “A dream is a wish your heart makes…” For now, Sparkle Crown will do - ha!

How long have you been collecting Happy Everything!?
Hmmmm, I think it’s been since 2010, so roughly 15 years! (Wow.)
Do you remember your very first Happy Everything! piece? What was it—and why did you choose it?
Yes, my Mom gifted me a 2010 Happy Everything! starter pack. It came with the green-and-white polka dotted Coton Colors Attachment bag (which I still very proudly use) and a bunch of the seasonal OG 2003 Icons like Turkey, Heart, Shamrock, and Flag, along with other now-Retired gems like the 2009 Frosty and Jack O Lantern.
(Fun fact: my parents went to FSU in Tallahassee, which is also home to Happy Everything! headquarters. So, she and her sorority sisters got pretty into Happy Everything! from the very start. My Mom always has her FSU Icon on display in their living room entertainment unit.)

What drew you to Happy Everything! in the first place?
1) I have the collectors bug in me
2) we have very limited storage space
3) I love really HAPPY seasonal décor! So Happy Everything! is a perfect match for me.
Nothing makes me happier than putting out a few decorative pieces for each holiday – big and small – and Happy Everything! makes that very easy to do.
What’s your all-time favorite Icon (or one you reach for again and again)?
That’s a really hard question…I’d have to say Toe Beans because I’m the proud dog mom to two maltipoos, Bode and Brandy, and I keep their treats in a Glass Jar on our kitchen counter. I already ordered the brand-new Toe Beans Shaped Ornament for their Christmas tree (yes, they have their own).
Toe Beans was actually the runner-up to Book Club for winning the 2024 Attachelor Contest and while I love Book Club, I was SO, SO sad to not get my hands on that little paw. It’s safe to say I screamed when the team officially made Toe Beans an Attachment the following year. (That was a hard secret to keep as our social media manager!)

And your all-time favorite Base or POPSHOP item? Or color combination?
Besides my Glass Jars, I’d have to go with Shaped Mugs! They are so, so, so cute and help make my morning coffees feel special every day. (If I had the storage space for it, I’d have them all.)
How many total Bases and Attachments are in your collection?
I’ve never counted before I took the photos for this blog, but apparently, I have 49 Attachments! Wow. (Don’t tell my minimalist husband that…)
And let me tell you - I’ve seen the Limited Edition design for this year’s Get Happy Holiday Party and… it’s safe to say I’ll be getting my 50th Attachment on November 6th…
As far as Bases go, I have all Minis including White Rectangle Platter, Wooden Serving Board, two Glass Jars, two White Frames, one Pink Small Dot Frame (had to have it since we’ve also got a pink fridge), a (retired) Blush Nesting Cube in my office, and a Happy Line Up frame.

Where in your home (or office?) do you display your collection the most?
My Frames stay out all year round in various rooms in the house, but my Glass Jars of coffee K-cups and dog treats get used every day in our kitchen.
How often do you switch out your Icons?
All the time! It’s so fun and simple to do, while making a big difference in any space.
How do you incorporate your collection into entertaining and/or everyday life?
Beyond coffee and dog treats, I use my White Small Dot Rectangle Platter all the time for hosting Book Club nights and for my annual holiday cookie swap.
My Nesting Cube also sits on my desk in my office and holds paper clips, hair ties, chapstick, pens, etc.
Sometimes I use my Wooden Serving Board and my Salted Margarita Attachment to bring drinks out to our pool for at-home happy hours. Makes a simple moment feel even more special!

What advice would you give a new collector?
As a Crew Collector, I actually have four pieces of advice:
1) Shop the Get Happy Holiday Party and Get Happy Spring Party promotions!
You’ll get 20% off, free shipping, and a free Limited-Edition Attachment with the purchase of a Base. Take it from me - they’re always EXTRA special “gotta have it” designs, and they’re only available during the Party, so the FOMO is real if you miss them.
2) Don’t forget you can get items personalized.
I love having “Bode and Brandy” on my Striped Bone and “Harmons” on my Picnic Basket (my family loves a pre-dinner cheese, champagne, and snack spread moment.) I have also personalized milestone Coton Colors Ornaments (our beautiful sister brand) as gifts in the past, as well.
3) If you love it, get it.
The regret at missing out on a Retired or Limited-Edition Icon is STRONGGGGG. I cherish owning some of the rare “unicorns” like Hydrangea, Strawberry, Frankenstein, and (literally) Unicorn. I’m a sucker for whenever there’s something a little extra special, like how “Frank” glows in the dark and Unicorn has beautiful ribbons.
4) Get what makes you HAPPY!!!
I don’t take decorating or hosting (or myself) too seriously, and it’s just so, so fun to collect different Icons and items over time and find reasons to use them. You absolutely WILL find a reason to use each “happy” you have.
Even some of the more nuanced ones… I LOVE a theme and used (Limited-Edition) Disco Ball for my mother-in-law’s 70’s-themed 70th bash and even brought (Retired) Happy Camper along for a birthday glamping weekend.

Has your collection marked any milestones (moves, celebrations, babies, gifts, etc.)?
Of course! I hosted a first birthday party for each of my dogs (yes, I’m that extra.) For Bode’s, it was “Somebunny Turned One” around Easter time, and I used Bunny Face and Rabbit for that.
For Brandy’s, I did an all-out Disney Princess theme, and I used Mermaid as “Ariel” in our serving spread. (Sparkle Crown would have been PERF!)
I also use our Coton Colors Deco Gold Scallop Ice Bucket for literally everryyyyythinggggg….

What piece is currently at the top of your wishlist?
As mentioned, I would love to have all the Shaped Mugs…but Tree or (Retiring) Easter Truck would be the next ones on my coffee lover gift wishlist…
If you could design your dream Icon, what would it be?
A Maltipoo! We get a lot of requests for breed-specific pups because everyone thinks they have the best dog in the world—and none of them are wrong. ;)
What’s your favorite kind of party to plan? What does a happy celebration look like for you at your home?
Halloween movie nights, Book Club dinners, Christmas cookie swaps, doggy playdates with homemade dog-friendly cake, theme parties…I love it all!!!
Thanks for having me. (And thanks to my friend Stephanie Smith for taking photos for me!)
